Change your targeting
Refine who your agent goes after — regions, titles, industries, specific companies — in the Flow tab or with one message to your Ninja.
Know this first: targeting changes apply to future sourcing. Leads your agent already evaluated keep their existing status — they are not automatically re-reviewed.
Edit your ICP directly
- Open the Flow tab and click your ICP block. The panel is titled Ideal Customer Profile & Offer.
- Edit the ICP description — a plain-text description of who you want: roles, industries, company sizes, geography, buying signals. Changes save automatically.
- Check Learned rules below it. These are the standing preferences your agent has picked up (from your corrections and instructions to your Ninja). You can edit them here directly, or click Add a rule.
- If relevant, set Prospection source: External (new connections), Internal (your existing 1st-degree network), or Both.
Or just tell your Ninja
Your Ninja (the Ask your Ninja button, top right) is the fastest way to change targeting — it updates your ICP and rules for you. Example phrasings:
- "I want leads in Quebec, not the US. Only source people based there."
- "Add these 20 companies to my targeting: [paste the list]."
- "Focus on VPs of Sales at 50–500 person SaaS companies."
- "Stop targeting agencies entirely."
Your change shows up in the Flow tab's ICP description or Learned rules, so you can always verify what the agent understood.
Common questions
I'm getting US leads but I sell in [my region]. How do I fix it?
Tell your Ninja exactly that: "Only source leads located in [region]. No US leads." Make sure your ICP description names the region too. New sourcing follows the updated geography; leads already in your pipeline are unaffected.
I changed my flow terms — can the agent re-review the unqualified leads?
Not automatically, no. Qualification runs once, before outreach, against the targeting in place at that time. Updating the ICP changes how future leads are evaluated. If a specific lead was wrongly excluded, open it in Leads → Not qualified and flip its status to Qualified yourself — see manage your leads.
I asked to add 20 companies. Will the agent contact all of them?
It will prioritize sourcing people at those companies who also match the rest of your ICP (right roles, right geography), then qualify them like any other lead. It won't blast every employee.
How do I exclude companies or people instead?
Same surfaces, inverted: a Learned rule like "never contact anyone at [company]" — details in manage your leads.
How fast do targeting changes take effect?
From the next sourcing session onward — typically you'll see newly sourced leads reflect the change within a day. See a day in your agent's life.
Will changing targeting mid-campaign hurt my results?
No — but frequent whiplash changes make results hard to read. Give a targeting change a few days of sourcing before judging it. Benchmarks live in results.
